(I have - I've recently been assessing PL4 with a view to merging it into my LR workflow).ĭXO have just released PureRAW - details (and free demo download) can be found Here.Ī YouTube review/ demonstration by Robin Whalley is available Here I'm not sure where that takes you, but there you go - testing continues.Įver wanted DeepPrime noise reduction without having to buy the full DXO PhotoLab 4? Other differences are apparent after processing by the two DXO programs (unsurprisingly) but only time will tell if they are taken forward to the final outcome (and which is better!). (DXO derived camera/ lens corrections are applied by both programs).Ĭomparing an image of the X-Rite Colourchecker colour chart, it looks like there are some very slight differences between the PhotoLab 4 and PureRAW *.dngs once in Lightroom - with the latter being closer to the result I got with Lightroom and my R5 colour profile as part of the original edit. In PureRAW I have to wait until the *.dng files are in Lightroom to apply the profile. In PhotoLab 4 I can apply my custom (X-Rite Colorchecker derived) R5 colour profile as part of the initial processing. I'm not using DPP - the resulting *.dng images are imported into Lightroom for comparison and further processing. I'm processing 21 raw images from different cameras of varying subjects comparing DXO PhotoLab 4 (which I was already assessing) and PureRAW against my existing edits of the same images. (Guess, I could try myself but just being lazy ) Is it possible to pass the resulting RAW files through DPP to produce Picture Profiled JPG ? That looks to be an interesting and less intrusive RAW processing tool.
